SUMMARY:The Asia Pacific School of Business Hosts 2026 SDG Global Action and Future Vision Week
DESCRIPTION:  \nEvent Description: \nAs the world reaches the critical midpoint of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development\, the urgency to accelerate progress toward the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has never been more pronounced. Adopted by all UN Member States in 2015\, the SDGs represent a universal blueprint for eradicating poverty\, reducing inequality\, combating climate change\, and ensuring peace and prosperity for all people and the planet. Yet\, global assessments reveal that progress across nearly half of the SDG targets has stalled\, with some regressing due to overlapping crises—climate volatility\, persistent economic disparities\, public health vulnerabilities\, and growing social fragmentation. In this pivotal moment\, higher education institutions emerge not as passive observers\, but as the primary architects of systemic\, transformative change. \nBusiness schools\, in particular\, hold a unique and irreplaceable position in driving SDG progress. As institutions that cultivate the next generation of corporate leaders\, policymakers\, social entrepreneurs\, and global citizens\, we are tasked with embedding sustainable development into the very DNA of leadership education and practice. The Asia Pacific School of Business (APSB) has long championed this mission\, rooted in our core belief that business success and societal well-being are inextricably linked. For over two decades\, APSB has stood as a premier institution of management education in the Asia Pacific— a region home to more than 60% of the world’s population\, the engine of global economic growth\, and a microcosm of both the world’s most pressing SDG challenges and its most innovative solutions. With our strategic campuses in Shenzhen—a global hub for green technology\, circular economy\, and low-carbon development—and Hanoi—a rapidly emerging center for inclusive urban growth and community-driven sustainability—APSB is uniquely positioned to bridge global SDG mandates with on-the-ground regional action. \nAgainst this backdrop\, APSB is honored to announce the 2026 SDG Global Action and Future Vision Week\, an official flagship initiative hosted under the framework of the University Global Coalition (UGC)\, in partnership with the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI)\, and aligned with the UGC’s annual SDG Action & Awareness Week (March 2–6\, 2026). This five-day hybrid event unites a global online audience with in-person participants at our Shenzhen and Hanoi campuses\, with a singular mission: to raise awareness of the SDGs among higher education students\, faculty\, and staff\, build practical capacity for sustainable action\, and inspire and empower our academic community to translate knowledge into tangible impact on their campuses and in their local communities. \nThis initiative is a testament to APSB’s unwavering commitment to the UGC and UNAI’s shared vision—one that leverages the collective power of academia to advance the UN’s global goals. It is more than a series of academic events: it is a call to action for the Asia Pacific higher education community to lead by example\, to foster cross-border and cross-sector collaboration\, and to position our region as a global leader in sustainable development. We invite students\, faculty\, staff\, industry partners\, civil society organizations\, and global changemakers to join us in this vital endeavor— to turn awareness into action\, vision into impact\, and individual effort into a collective movement that advances the promise of the 2030 Agenda for all. \nPlease refer to this link for more information: https://www.apsb.edu.eu/news_events/1693.html \nLanguage: English \nSDGs Addressed: \n\nAgenda 2030\n\n  \nDetailed Event Program (March 2–6\, 2026) – All Activities in Table Format \nAll times are listed in Singapore Standard Time (SGT\, UTC+8); Hanoi events are held at UTC+7 (1 hour earlier local time)\, and Shenzhen events align with SGT (UTC+8). SUMMARY:From Commitment to Action: Hands-On Pathways to Advancing the SDGs through short-term volunteering with Global Volunteers
DESCRIPTION:Event Description: \nThis session will introduce Global Volunteers’ Reaching Children’s Potential Program (RCP) as a practical\, scalable framework for advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through direct\, hands-on engagement on short term volunteer programs.\nWhile many institutions express commitment to the SDGs\, translating that commitment into measurable action can be challenging. Global Volunteers provides structured opportunities for individuals\, colleges and universities\, and corporations to partner directly and participate in short terms volunteer programs with local communities in long-term\, community-driven development initiatives aligned with the SDGs.\nParticipants will learn how experiential service programs can:\n• Align academic coursework with global development outcomes\n• Strengthen alumni and corporate engagement strategies\n• Create meaningful cross-sector partnerships\n• Deliver measurable contributions toward specific SDG targets\nThe session will highlight real-world examples of university and corporate engagement and offer a replicable model for institutions seeking to move from awareness to implementation in advancing the SDGs. \nMeeting here:https://globalvolunteers.zoom.us/j/83576860242 \nPresenters: \nAndrew Philbrook\, Director of the Americas & Africa\nOperations and General Counsel \nLanguage: English \nSDGs Addressed: \n\nSDG 1 – No Poverty\nSDG 2 – Zero Hunger\nSDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being\nSDG 4 – Quality Education\nSDG 5 – Gender Equality\nSDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation\nSDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy\nSDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth\nSDG 9 – Industry\, Innovation and Infrastructure\nSDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities\nSDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities\nSDG 16 – Peace\, Justice and Strong Institutions\nSDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals\n\n5 “P’s” of sustainable development (People\, Planet\, Prosperity\, Peace\, Partnership) \n\nPeople\nProsperity\nPeace\nPartnership

SUMMARY:Third Edition of the International Virtual Workshop on Environmental Pollution Data Management within the Framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDGs)
DESCRIPTION:Event Description: \nThis event is a collaborative initiative involving academics and researchers from the Faculty of Agronomy and Veterinary Sciences of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí (Mexico)\, the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the National University of Cuyo (Argentina)\, and EARTH University (Costa Rica).\nWithin the framework of reflection on the United Nations 2030 Agenda and the formulation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)\, encompassing 169 targets across the economic\, social\, and environmental dimensions\, it is considered essential to assess their performance and impact from a global to a local scale. In particular\, seven SDGs are of special interest\, as several of their targets and scopes require robust data management in order to diagnose conditions\, develop models\, and generate projections that support decision-making across different sectors of society. These goals include: SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation; SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy; SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities; SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production; SDG 13: Climate Action; SDG 14: Life Below Water; and SDG 15: Life on Land.\nThe main objective of the workshop is to train students in the analysis and interpretation of environmental pollution data\, enabling them to identify the applicable regulatory frameworks related to water\, soil\, and air\, as well as to recognize prevention and mitigation strategies for environmental impacts aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.\nThroughout the workshop\, reflections are conducted in relation to the 2030 Agenda. Participants are guided on the importance of environmental\, social\, and economic sustainability indicators\, as well as technological indicators that have evolved over time and their relationship with indicators of water\, soil\, and air pollution. Special emphasis is placed on the relevance of national environmental information systems and on how issues related to water\, soil\, and air pollution are addressed from a technical and scientific perspective\, considering information categories such as indices\, variables\, indicators-parameters\, and the study of physicochemical and biological properties\, among others.\nSimilarly\, several key questions are addressed\, such as: What considerations should be taken into account when studying contaminants in water\, soil\, and air? What can be investigated\, and for what purpose should contaminants be studied? Examples of models documented in scientific studies are presented\, illustrating the variables and indicators used to assess environmental impacts and pollution arising from anthropogenic and natural activities\, as well as the importance of establishing direct and indirect relationships when addressing pollution issues. Finally\, a practical component is carried out involving the analysis of specific environmental quality datasets for water\, soil\, and air\, their interpretation within national and international regulatory frameworks\, and the use of specialized software for contaminant modeling. \nMeeting here: https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/19%3ameeting_NGUxYTg0YzUtNGUwOC00ODk2LWI5MDUtOWU2NjJjMmJhMjVk%40thread.v2/0?context=%7b%22Tid%22%3a%220a81ffad-ecde-490c-9d85-442777ce8e9f%22%2c%22Oid%22%3a%2219a003b7-c57e-4bcd-8941-5a2c5b8ac5b9%22%7d \nPresenters: \nInstructor: \n\nDr. Jorge Alonso Alcalá Jáuregui\, Professor\, Faculty of Agronomy and Veterinary Sciences\, Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí (Mexico).\n\nFacilitators: \n\nDr. Idrissa Diedhiou\, Professor\, EARTH University (Costa Rica).\nDr. María Flavia Filippini\, Professor\, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences\, National University of Cuyo (Argentina).\nDr. Daniela Cónsoli\, Professor\, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences\, National University of Cuyo (Argentina).\nDr. Eduardo Martínez Carretero\, Professor\, IADIZA (CONICET)\, Geobotany and Phytogeography\, Mendoza\, Argentina.\n\nLanguage: Spanish \nSDGs Addressed: \n\nSDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation\nSDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy\nSDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities\nSDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production\nSDG 13: Climate Action\nSDG 14: Life Below Water\nSDG 15: Life on Land\n\n5 “P’s” of sustainable development (People\, Planet\, Prosperity\, Peace\, Partnership): \n\nPeople\nPlanet\nProsperity\nPeace\nPartnership
