SUMMARY:Youth Leadership for the SDGs in South Asia: Challenges & Opportunities
DESCRIPTION:Event Description: \nSouth Asia is home to one of the largest youth populations in the world\, with an estimated 700 million people under the age of 24. These young populations are concentrated in the region’s most populous countries\, including India\, Pakistan\, Bangladesh\, Sri Lanka\, and Afghanistan. While this demographic presents significant potential for sustainable economic growth\, social development\, and environmental progress\, the region continues to face substantial challenges. These include issues related to quality education\, employment opportunities\, skills development\, gender equality\, and access to adequate healthcare services. \nGiven these complexities\, fostering meaningful discussions and debates is essential. Such dialogue helps identify the key barriers faced by young people and enables the development of strategies to overcome these challenges. This is crucial for guiding the region toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). \nMeeting link here:  \nhttps://teams.microsoft.com/meet/38648325025161?p=I0j2trSvvN8JsMV2k4 \nYouth Leadership for the SDGs in South Asia: Challenges & Opportunities\nJoin via Teams:\nhttps://teams.microsoft.com/meet/38648325025161?p=I0j2trSvvN8JsMV2k4\nMeeting ID:386 483 250 251 61\nPasscode:hw3bd3sM \nPresenters: \nDr Aliar Hossain (Head of Department & Prof. of Strategy)\nNorthumbria University London \nLanguage: English \nSDGs Addressed: \n\nSDG 8 – Decent Work & Economic Growth\nSDG 9 – Industry\, Innovation & Infrastructure\nSDG 13 – Climate Action\nSDG 16 – Peace\, Justice & Strong Institutions\nSDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goal\n\n5 “P’s” of sustainable development (People\, Planet\, Prosperity\, Peace\, Partnership) \n\nPeople\nProsperity\nPeace\nPartnership
