SUMMARY:Sustainability Literacy: A Global Challenge for Higher Education Institutions
DESCRIPTION:In this opening event of UGC Action & Awareness Week\, Aurélien Decamps\, Sulitest‘s co-founder and faculty at Kedge Business School\, will present the HLPF Sulitest report for 2020 and the Sulitest International Test. During the week\, students\, faculty and staff of all member universities of UGC will have the opportunity to respond to the SuliTest\, a tool for assessing an individual’s SDG literacy\, free of charge. Preliminary results will be presented and discussed in a closing event on Friday\, March 5. \nPresenters: \nÁngel Cabrera\, President\, Georgia Institute of Technology and Steering Committee Chair\, University Global Coalition \nJonas Haertle\, Chief\, Office of the Executive Director\, United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) \nAurélien Decamps\, Sulitest co-founder and faculty\, Kedge Business School \n  \nEvent Organizers: \nUniversidad Carlos III de Madrid \nSUNY (the State University of New York) \n  \n\nJOIN THE EVENT HERE: \nhttp://bit.ly/SDGSulitest (Note: link is case sensitive) \nAbout Sulitest: \nSulitest is an international organization devoted to promote sustainability literacy\, that is\, the knowledge\, skills and mindsets that allow individuals to become deeply committed to build a sustainable future and that help them to make informed and effective decisions to this end. In 2016\, Sulitest was recognized as one of the first featured initiatives of the UN Partnerships for SDGs\, contributing to the second UNESCO Global Education Monitoring Report and to the review of the 2030 Agenda through the High-level Political Forum (HLPF). It also holds an observer status to the UN Environment Assembly and a Special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council since 2019. \nSulitest offers a variety of engagement and assessment tools that are aligned with the SDGs. To date\, almost 190\,000 people have taken Sulitest’s bestknown tool – the international Test\, offering the first global database on sustainability awareness. Yearly\, Sulitest publishes its Raising & Mapping Awareness of the Global Goals report at the UN HLPF\, highlighting trends from this database. The most recent awareness test conducted with a global sample of university students\, staff and faculty\, shows that the level of awareness about the goals is far from complete\, ranging between 44% and 65% for individual SDGs. At the same time\, the observed heterogeneity has remained constant over time. The results highlight the urgent need for the development of education and initiatives to raise awareness both of SDGS in general and of specific SDGs. \nTO SIGN UP FOR SULITEST: \nIn order to take the test online\, you will have to sign up on the Sulitest.org website. Once the registration is complete\, you will reach your personal account where you will be able to manage your current and future sessions\, results\, and profile. \nTo sign up\, please follow this link: \nhttp://www.sulitest.org/sign-up.html \nOnce you are registered\, you can add this session to your account using the following Session Code: 09B5-4423-FF13 (please copy and paste it under “Add Sessions”\, without any space before or after). Your session is planned between 2021-03-01 18:00 and 2021-03-04 12:00. \nThe session will be anonymous. Optionally\, you may choose to identify your university (and the results per institution could be later requested to the Sulitest team).
