Innovating for Equity: Medical Technologies, Health Services & Education for Sustainable Development
March 4 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am TMT

Event Description:
- Global health inequalities remain a major challenge to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). This webinar will explore how advanced technologies in medicine – including artificial intelligence, digital health, biomedical engineering, and point-of-care diagnostics – can help bridge gaps in access to quality healthcare between high-resource and low-resource settings.
We will present current innovations and research initiatives that enable earlier diagnosis, more efficient treatment, and expanded healthcare access for underserved populations. The session will discuss practical applications of emerging technologies in reducing disparities related to geography, infrastructure, workforce shortages, and economic limitations. Some case studies and real-world examples will illustrate how universities and research institutions can contribute to equitable healthcare systems worldwide. - Introduction to health services
