Eco-Equality and Gender Equity: A panel of Millennium Fellows taking the lead

March 3 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm EST

The intersection of gender and climate action today addresses humanity’s most pressing issues in the 21st century. Environmental justice cannot be imagined without gender equity. An environmentally conscious world necessitates the importance of integrating gender perspectives into climate action. And to achieve gender equality we cannot gloss over the need to evaluate, address and question the disproportionate effect of climate change over marginalized gender identities.

Join Millennium Campus Network’s Millennium Fellows from the Class of 2024 as they share the diversity of ways they advanced the sustainable development goals of climate action and gender equality. Focusing on collective action and sustainable solutions, the event draws attention towards the interrelationship between achieving gender equality and climate action. This event will highlight how gender-responsive approaches can enhance the effectiveness of sustainability efforts and how climate action is unimaginable without addressing the ever increasing gender parity in their specific socio-political and economic contexts.
