From Commitment to Action: Hands-On Pathways to Advancing the SDGs through short-term volunteering with Global Volunteers

March 3 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm CST

Event Description:

This session will introduce Global Volunteers’ Reaching Children’s Potential Program (RCP) as a practical, scalable framework for advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through direct, hands-on engagement on short term volunteer programs.
While many institutions express commitment to the SDGs, translating that commitment into measurable action can be challenging. Global Volunteers provides structured opportunities for individuals, colleges and universities, and corporations to partner directly and participate in short terms volunteer programs with local communities in long-term, community-driven development initiatives aligned with the SDGs.
Participants will learn how experiential service programs can:
• Align academic coursework with global development outcomes
• Strengthen alumni and corporate engagement strategies
• Create meaningful cross-sector partnerships
• Deliver measurable contributions toward specific SDG targets
The session will highlight real-world examples of university and corporate engagement and offer a replicable model for institutions seeking to move from awareness to implementation in advancing the SDGs.
