SDG Action and Awareness Week Kick Off – From Commitment to Action: The Role of Universities in Advancing the 2030 Agenda

Event Description:

The kick-off event for the 2026 edition of the UGC SDG Action and Awareness Week will showcase the role of higher education institutions in advancing the 2030 Agenda. The panel will bring leaders from several HEIs and university networks to share their thoughts and express the urgency of collaboration to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The panel welcomes Arturo Condo, President of EARTH University, Costa Rica as the moderator; a special video by our SDG Action and Awareness Week co-sponsor, the United Nations Academic Impact presented by Maher Nasser, Director of the Outreach Division; Joanna Regulska, Vice-Provost of the University of California, Davis, Committee Member for UGC and Co-Lead for the UNAI SDG 2 Hub; and Karina Ruiz, Strategic Partnerships Lead of Tecnologico de Monterrey and Co-Lead for the 2026 SDG Action and Awareness Week Organizing Committee.
