Strengthening the Corps: Advancing Food System Sustainability through Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, and FoodCorps

The “Strengthening the Corps: Advancing food system sustainability through Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, and FoodCorps” panel will be a high-energy, engaging event that provides participants with first-hand insight into the service corps. Volunteers from Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, and FoodCorps will share information about their service experiences and answer questions that participants have. The panelists will discuss the strengths and skills that prepared them for their terms of service, as well as the experiences and abilities that they gained as a result of their work. The discussion will primarily focus on the food and agricultural sector and how the panelists’ work addressed problems within the food system. People who are interested in the work being done to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals or are interested in becoming volunteers will benefit from attending this event. The Strengthening the Corps panel will be hosted and facilitated by Student Farm Club at Penn State University.
