Celebrating Youth Civic Leadership: SDGs in Action

Event Description:
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted by all member states of the United Nations in 2015. The 17 Sustainable Goals, are ambitious but transformational, far-reaching, people-centred, universal and transformative, builds on the momentum of the Millennium Development Goals. The Agenda placed a unique and renewed emphasis on Global Partnerships. It calls to the spirit of global solidarity especially for the marginalized and the most vulnerable to support the implementation of the 17 Goals.
Millennium Campus Network (MCN) is a Boston-based, global non-profit convening and training 21st-century social impact leaders to advance all 17 of the Sustainable Development Goals each year. Committed to supporting youth civic leadership, MCN through the Millennium Fellowship and Millennium Oceans Prize, MCN has empowered 23,000+ young leaders to use their voices and power to make a difference on university campuses and in the community.
Join us on 5th March at 10 am Eastern Time to hear from the MCN Community about how they are advancing the sustainable development goals in their communities through grassroots initiatives. Focusing on collective action and sustainable solutions, the event focuses on highlighting how indispensable youth civic engagement is to the 2030 Agenda. It is an attempt to celebrate the diversity of ways young people have shown up for their communities to address humanity’s most pressing problems particularly with SDGs 4, 5 & 6. Register to learn more about youth civic leadership, look intentionally at what the SDGs look like in action and celebrate the resilience and leadership of the MCN Community.
